Wild Flower Area
Due to the local slugs two of our wildflower areas are going to look a little sorry for themselves this summer so we have come up with the following solutions.
1. More wildflowers have been sown and are currently being grown in pots for planting out in a few weeks when more established
2. Try again in the Autumn when conditions should be more favourable
3. Fill the areas with our colourful recycled flowers.
This should appeal to the Bloom judges as it demonstrates RECYCLING, ART and COMMUNITY SPIRIT.
This is where we need your help.
We’re asking if you can make some plastic bottle flowers, they’re easy to do and any bottle can be used (water, pop, condiments, washing products etc).
Please see our step-by-step guide below.
Gloss or Acrylic paint is suitable for decoration in any colour, indeed the more variation the better.
Go on have a go !
Get the kids / grandkids involved its even fun for grown ups !!
At the end of the summer we will ‘pick’ them and plan to reuse as an art feature somewhere.
We would like to collect in the flowers by the end of June but will request a count up in 2 weeks time.
