August Update
Whilst the weather over the last few weeks has been somewhat mixed, our planting areas have benefited hugely and continue to put on growth and display some super colour.
In addition to the ongoing watering that's required (despite the rain !) maintenance has been taking place with deadheading and weed removal .
Yesterday evening a small group carried out several gardening tasks (under the watchful eye of the evenings supervisor Meg ) that included.
Grass cutting.
Shrub pruning to maintain shape to remove unwanted growth.
Taking of cuttings to propagate for use next year.
Removal of cabbage white caterpillars from Nasturtiums.
Tidy the bottle flowers following the recent storms.
Thanks to all involved.
Coming up in September (dates to confirm)
In addition to regular maintenance
Grass & Hedge cutting our wild areas
Collecting wild flower seeds to reuse next year
Poltimore in Bloom 'Big' get together in the village hall.
This will be in two parts the first being a rerun of our presentation for those that couldn't make it in July.
Followed by an open forum to discuss where we go from here with our Bloom adventure.
