The 3rd October 2023 saw Poltimore’s first attendance at a Britain/Southwest in Bloom awards ceremony, held in Truro.
With over 300 attendees it certainly brought home how important and encompassing the Bloom project is.
For context, Bloom South West region is an area roughly south of Gloucester across to Swindon and down to the coast.
The morning saw various speeches followed by a Cornish pasty lunch taking us into the all important presentations.
So how did we do?

Best Southwest website.
Our awards consist of framed certificates and trophies and a bonus GOLD flag which is now proudly flying.
Whilst all the awards are special and well deserved the one of particular merit is for the website.
A website is the ‘modern’ shop window’, but you need something to put in the window which we ‘created, packaged and put on display’.
The impressive bit is our ‘tiny shop’ was awarded the best in the Southwest beating all the larger towns and yes cities in the region.
We should all be very proud, enjoy the moment and then back to the hard work for next year's entry.
